Ehhh I kinda like it. He's cute here, and I'd rather see him in his underwear than years later when he's playing nerdy and looks puffy on Two & a Half Men. Also I think Superman IV had more than enough other problems aside from his Lenny Luthor. He was a stupid character but the movies budget hurt worse.
I was kind of kidding about Superman 4. It had problems all the way down the line (script, casting, special effects, editing) BUT, I think I still liked it more than Superman 3. At least it had it's heart in the right place and was somewhat like a (bad) comic book. Superman 3 was ruined by Richard Pryor and making it a flat out (bad) comedy. 2 things keep me from writing off Superman 3 totally; Annette O'Toole was a great Lana Lang and the fight between Supes and Clark in the junkyard.
Superman III is worth it for me in a so-bad-it's-way, which is the only way to try and watch it. The part where Vera gets turned into a robot is the cherry on the crap sundae that is Superman III. I will agree that IV at least tried, but then failed completely in almost every respect. Lenny Luthor is my favorite part of that movie because he's such an obvious attempt to add in youthful comedy to appeal to a younger crowd. His constant Oh NOOOOOOOOHs are just so appallingly delightful.

DeleteThat should be so-bad-it's-good, obviously lol
DeleteI think he's cute in those Y-fronts. And I love seeing him now in those white JC Penney Staffords on Three and a Half Men :)
