Cole (Joel Courtney's character) has spent all four years of high school being an outsider because on his first day as a freshman he was pantsed while wearing white briefs and that marked him as a "loser." He gets the nickname Tighty. His best friend Maddy ditched him and became the most popular girl in school. Her life gets thrown into a shambles and she becomes friends with Cole again. Together they recruit other misfits and outcasts and make a plan to get revenge at the prom.
The girl in the red dress who pulls Cole's pants down is Maddy's ex best friend and one of the people who has made Cole's life hell. She figures out what Cole did to ruin prom and pantses him as revenge. She laughs at the fact that he's still wearing tighty whities. Cole's friends move to shield him from view but he kicks off his shoes and pants and delivers a speech about how people like Maddy and her friends have made life hell for others even though they all know better. It's actually a good speech. -V
It is a pretty good movie and I would recommend it even if it didn't have two really good white briefs scenes. There are some genuinely funny moments and it does go in a slightly different direction than I thought it would.
My only complaint is that it feels slightly rushed. The movie doesn't take the time to really set up the status quo of Cole and Maddy being best friends until Cole's embarrassing pantsing incident and then it rushes through their estrangement to get them being friends again. A few more minutes spent on showing us Cole as the outsider and Maddy as the popular girl would have worked better.
The movie also introduces a good cast of loser characters but doesn't do as much with them as possible.
Still, it's a good movie and worth a rental. I do hope it gets released on DVD. I'd like a commentary just to hear how Joel Courtney felt filming a scene where he's delivering this very dramatic speech while wearing tighty whities. -V
Just watched this yesterday. I love love love loved it! Joel Courtney is gorgeous. I love that the character stayed true to himself and did not give up on wearing tighty whities.
not quite the same, but the actor was also wedgied prety good in Kissing Booth on Netflix. Pretty obvious white FTL material, most likely briefs I'd say.
There's a video online where Joel Courtney is pansed in real life by his "Kissing Booth" co-star Joey King. In real life (at least on that day) Joel was wearing a pair of long boxer briefs. There's definitely some added humor to briefs scenes in movies when you know that the actor is not a briefs guy in real life, but still probably has to spend most of the day wearing briefs in front of a crowd of people.
