Here's a nice surprise. It is very pleasing but original. It's a change from boring dark boxerbriefs. I haven't seen the movie. I wonder why the movie director chose these briefs for a 30-year-old Brit living today. Is the character supposed to be badly dressed or on the contrary sexy?
I confirm ! In Europe, especially at home in France, we tend to wear briefs, regardless of age. I don't know why there are such differences between countries.
It makes me happy to read it, because about France I have the opposite feeling. I hope I'm wrong and you're right. I am French, living abroad, and when I come home once or twice a year, I have the impression that since the 2000s, briefs have disappeared from the straight world. Among my entourage, in locker rooms or shops, there are some left, but so few. And I’m not talking about the white briefs that have been mocked since the 80s. I also see it in movies, commercials or images of professional soccer locker rooms. In Italy, England and Spain, the most stylish players, up to Cristiano Ronaldo, have no problem wearing briefs and exposing it. In french teams it seems so rare to me. A player like Varane wears white briefs in a Spanish or English club but not under the blue kit. (Of course tastes are different through the gay community I belong to.) If you live there and make the opposite observation, then I am super super happy.
It isn’t very likely that an actor’s personal choice will be imposed on the film crew. But he can come up with something, especially when he's the main character.
