Have to admit I never watched this series so thanks to reader who pointed out the scene. Wouldn't have expected tighty whities to show up in a futuristic show! Not the greatest caps but the best I could do.
The actor in briefs is Bodie Olmos. This was unfortunately the only time BSG had an actor appear in briefs. After this it was boxers or boxer-briefs. -V
Right before this, Olmos is chasing the female pilot in the hallway and there is a closer shot of him(I think) in briefs. The episode is from the second season and is titled Final Cut if you want to look for it. -V
It's not so obviously "earthly" tighty whities like here, but in Star Wars Empire strikes back, there is a good shot with Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) wearing nothing but withe underwear (between briefs and diapers indeed)and all his friends looking at him (i think the princess is there). If you go further more (in time, space and kind of underwear) there is a long fight scene in white kindof briefs in Franck's Herbert Dune http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ueYYVRTWmjY goto 2h02. The main actor is calles Alec Newman.
