I know that he is playing a character, but its funny because Chris Meloni is often seen in briefs. But, this show was set in the times when briefs were losing favor, so no surprise is the son makes the switch.
Well, to be fair, he doesn't really disparage them, or say not to sleep in them - he says if you are going to sleep in them and choose to then wander around the neighborhood, "don't wear nuthuggers cause no one wants to see that." And, that's probably not the worst advice to tell someone walking around the neighborhood. :-) But, it was not remotely just a comment about the underwear.
Of course, like many shows, it will probably show briefs a few times early so people keep looking for it, then never again ... :-(

ReplyDeleteIn the clip for the scene the dad makes a disparaging comment about the kid sleeping in briefs so 10-1 he will switch to boxers in future episodes :-(
